Scientific objectives and research project

To promote a progressive, problem-oriented methodology to organize the contributions of scientists, students and practitioners into four activities applied successively to four case studies : Bac Hung Hai in the Red River Delta, Bac Nghe An in the centre, Dak Lak in the highlands and Duc Hoa in the Mekong Delta, which represent the diversity of Vietnam in terms of agricultural regions, socio-environmental conditions and water problems. The results of these activities will be methodological, scientific, technological and, when possible, political (issuing recommendations and support for the conduct of negotiations over water issues). Method : 1/ assessing the socio-environmental context, identify the main stakeholders and users, list the problems and areas for improvement ; 2/ Participatory Modeling; 3/ Scenarios : support stakeholders and researchers in the definition of scenarios of social, economic and environmental evolutions of the case study ; 4/ Participatory Simulations
